The STERRENHEMEL is a collection of around 300 star drawings, brought together in a collage that unfolds as a timeline. The works were created over a period of seven weeks in the summer of 2025.
During that time, I was going through a very difficult time. Drawing stars quickly grew into an intense obsession, a way of coping with that phase. It gave me distraction and a sense of control, something that was otherwise missing. In this way, it helped me get through the days. I needed color and liveliness, and I expressed that in my drawings.
The collage serves as a way for me to bring this period to a close. Within the whole, you can see where I began, as well as how my emotional state evolved over time. This becomes visible, for example, in the use of color and the way the stars are drawn.
